An oxymel is a tart, vinegar-based elixir made from combining medicinal herbs with honey and ACV. True to its name, the foundation of our Tulsi Oxymel is fresh, locally-grown Holy Basil. Also known as Tulsi, Holy Basil is one of the most revered plants in Ayurveda, India’s more than 3,000 year-old medicine system. A member of a class of plants called adaptogens, which help the body rebuild from stress, in this formula Holy Basil combines with apple cider vinegar and local honey to lighten your step and gently lift the mood.

Although native to parts of Africa and south Asia, Holy Basil grows well in North Eastern United States. We grew the Tulsi in this formula ourselves. Flowering prolifically well into fall, so much as graze a stand of Holy Basil plants and out erupts the sweetest, most beautiful, almost bubble-gum-like aroma—an intoxicant in and of itself.
