2024 CSA Membership Agreement
MEMBER AGREEMENT:
We, Olamina Botanicals, wish to provide you with local, seasonal and vibrant herbal formulas prepared from herbs we have grown with care, gathered sustainably and conscientiously sourced. You, the member, wish to receive a share of the harvest and support this project.
This agreement outlines our shared commitments to one another. By purchasing a share of our 2024 Community Supported Apothecary, you agree to the following principles:
You acknowledge that you are committing to receive a box of five herbal formulas either once every three months (in June 2024, September 2024, December 2024 and March 2025) or once every six months (in June 2024 and December 2024).
Your boxes will be mailed to you approximately five days before the Summer Solstice June 21, 2024, approximately five days before the Fall Equinox on September 22, 2024, five days before the Winter Solstice December 21, 2024 and five days before the Spring Equinox on March 19, 2025. Please ensure that the mailing address you save to your account when purchasing your membership is both the mailing address to which your shares should be sent and a secure location. We will add third party shipping insurance to your packages on your behalf, however it will be your responsibility to file a claim with the insurance carrier. We are not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen or waylaid while you are out of town. Should you be away on one of the dates on which herbal boxes are sent, please make arrangements for a friend to pick up your box. We are not responsible for shares you are unable to receive.
Seasonal commitments from CSA members provide much-needed stability and reliable income to small makers. Unfortunately, there is no option to end your membership during the season.
Our herbs are grown at small-scale l without pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers, using regenerative and more-than-organic agricultural practices. Ecological harmony is at the forefront of what we do. Therefore adverse weather events, pests and other forces of nature may affect crop yields. Part of the power and joy of participating in a CSA is sharing the risk of an agricultural endeavor, as well as reaping the rewards of a bountiful year.
While some ingredients in our herbal preparations will be neither grown nor foraged by us, we will source them with the same intention and care. For example, if “true cinnamon” is included in a formula, know that it has been purchased directly from organic farms in Hawai’i with whom we have relationships.
We are not licensed to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any illness. It is recommended that you consult with your licensed practitioner before beginning any new herb regimen–especially if you are pregnant or nursing. Please also be aware of plants to which you may be allergic and of contraindications between herbs and any medications you may be taking. At this time, we do not have the capacity to research herb-drug interactions in-depth for you. We are not responsible for adverse reactions to our formulas.
Alongside your quarterly share, you will receive a zine with information about the herbal preparations included in the share, suggestions for how to use them and ideas about how to weave herbalism into the every day. You will be kept up-to-date on happenings at the farm and in the herbal kitchen. You are welcome to contact us directly at any time via email at info@olaminabotanicals.com. We aim for total transparency and are excited for what this year will bring.
As a member, we believe that you are helping to shift our agricultural system in a more equitable direction. Together, we are engaging in an alternative economic model based on the shared values of solidarity and sustainability. Our promise to you is to provide you with the highest-quality locally grown herbs and herbal preparations.
Thank you for being part of this project!
